Prepare the Perfect Ham!

Our Tops Real Butchers have some tips to help you prepare the perfect Easter ham.

Use a low, steady temperature: Heat at approximately 325°F to keep the ham tender and juicy.
Add moisture: Add a small amount of water, juice, or broth to the bottom of the pan to prevent drying.
Keep it covered: Cover tightly with foil for most of the cooking time to lock in moisture.
Score the surface: Lightly score the outside of the ham to help the glaze absorb and enhance flavor.
Glaze at the end: Apply glaze during the final 20 to 30 minutes to avoid burning and create a caramelized finish.
Check internal temperature: Heat until the internal temperature reaches 140°F, measured in the thickest part.
Let it rest: Rest for 15 to 30 minutes before slicing to retain juices.
