Lighting the Way to Lower Energy Use
Tops continues to invest in energy efficient lighting with its partners at NOCO Energy to accelerate our LED lighting conversion. This latest initiative lowers electricity consumption and decrease an estimated 16,000 kWh in annual electricity savings. An estimated $1.6M was invested in this recent capital project.
Turning Waste into Impact
Tops commitment to leaving a smaller carbon footprint is something we strive for daily.
Last year along we recycled:
Over 1,950 tons of used cooking/fryer oil
1,165 tons of plastic bags and stretch film
120,000+ tons of cardboard, newspapers, and office paper
More than 2,380 tons of organic scraps
Fresh Recovery
The Fresh Recovery Program at 140 Tops locations has recovered over 1.6 million pounds of food by redistributing surplus items to local communities. It reduces waste while helping fight hunger and supporting a more sustainable food system.
