Buffalo Chili

A crowd pleaser. Requested over and over. Kid approved.

Ingredients

1 pound ground turkey

3 tablespoons butter

2 carrots, peeled and chopped

3 stalks celery, chopped

1 red bell pepper, chopped

1 medium onion, chopped

salt and pepper, to taste

1 tablespoon olive oil

5 cloves garlic, crushed and minced or 5 teaspoons minced garlic

2 tablespoons chili powder

3 teaspoons cumin

12 ounces beer (best with Oktoberfest), can be omitted

1 can (14.5 ounce) diced tomatoes

1 can (8 ounce) tomato sauce

1/2 cup hot sauce (or less depending on desired taste)

Directions:

In dutch oven on med/high heat, cook ground turkey and move to bowl.

In same dutch oven, add butter and cook the carrots, celery, pepper and onion until soft; add salt and pepper to taste.

Make a spot in the middle to cook garlic in olive oil for 30 seconds. Mix together and add chili powder and cumin.

Optional: deglaze dutch oven with 12 ounces beer.

Add cooked ground turkey; mix together.

Stir in diced tomatoes and tomato sauce.

Stir in hot sauce to desired tasted.
