Hi! Elizabeth here, and I'm back on behalf of TOPS Friendly Markets to share my blog about the new line of foods they're offering: Culinary Tours.
One of the reasons I love pasta dishes is because they give me a chance to experiment with different flavors. Pasta is a delicious canvas that allows me to do my thing! I've never tasted a pasta as good as Culinary Tours Egg & Sage Striped Butternut Squash Ravioli, so this dinner turned out to be a masterpiece!
In my house, a meal either begins with a certain craving or there's an ingredient we need to use before it expires. On this night, we had a fresh loaf of Italian bread and zero ideas. I opened my freezer, found the butternut squash ravioli and went to work.
I always say that pasta is like an episode of Friends. You know it's going to be good, but some are better than others. This ravioli is of the highest caliber, like "The One Where No One Is Ready"-complete with an incredibly rich filling and just the right mix of flavors.
This unique pasta was enough to stand out on its own so instead of using a sauce, I fried the cooked ravioli in olive oil for a bit and then mixed in some goat cheese and a little pinch of nutmeg. The results were delicious. Eventually, I'd like to find a pre-made sauce to make it even easier to whip up during those action-packed "pasta nights."
My daughter loved it so much, she now wants to make her own ravioli so she can "stuff it with a bunch of stuff." There's nothing like the inspiration that comes from a great dish! I'm excited (and kind of terrified) but we're going to give it a try. I love these little trips to Italy!
