TOPS Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month

National Hispanic Heritage Week began in 1968, but was expanded to a month-long celebration in 1988. From Sept. 15 through Oct. 15th, America celebrates the culture and traditions of those U.S. citizens whose ethnicity is rooted in Mexico, Spain and the Spanish-speaking nations of Central America, South America and the Caribbean.
At GIANT, we're committed to honoring and celebrating the culture, achievements and history of the Hispanic population during Hispanic Heritage Month, as well as throughout the year. The focus of our booklet this year is to honor those of Hispanic origin, with a special emphasis on those who have served, or are currently serving, in the
U.S. Armed Forces. Please take a moment to read the stories of these heroic people who have given so much for our country’s freedom. Today, and every day, we salute them.
Spanish Translation: La Semana Nacional de la Herencia Hispana comenzó en 1968, pero se convirtió en una celebración de todo un mes en 1988. Desde el 15 de septiembre hasta el 15 de octubre, Estados Unidos celebra la cultura y tradiciones de aquellos ciudadanos americanos que tienen sus raíces en los grupos étnicos de México, España y los países de habla hispana de América Central, América del Sur y el Caribe. Nos comprometemos a honrar y celebrar la cultura, los logros y la historia de la población hispana durante el Mes de la Herencia Hispana, al igual que durante todo el año. El enfoque de nuestro folleto este año es honrar a todos aquellos de origen hispano, pero en especial a aquellos que han servido, o están sirviendo, en las Fuerzas Armadas de Estados Unidos. Por favor, dedique un momento a leer las historias de estos héroes que han sacrificado tanto por la libertad de nuestro país. Hoy, y todos los días, les rendimos un homenaje. |
