Tops Markets and Martin's Super Food Stores are proud to partner with Compass House on the implementation of Safe Place within Erie County. Now, the Erie, Niagara and Monroe County stores are all working together to serve as a Safe Place site, providing assistance to youth between the ages of 12-17, who are in crisis and need immediate help.

“OUR KIDS” CHILDREN'S MIRACLE NETWORK BALLOONS
Each July, TOPS stores sell paper Children’s Miracle Network balloons to customers for $1 each. The money raised from balloon sales is donated to each of the CMN affiliate hospitals serving our stores’ individual marketing areas. In 2007, through the generosity of our customers and associates TOPS raised over $137,967 for these hospitals:- Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo
- Golisano Children’s Hospital at Strong Hospital – Rochester
- Golisano Children’s Hospital at University Hospital - Syracuse
- Arnot Ogden – Elmira, NY
- Janet Weis Children’s Hospital at Geisinger Medical Center – Danville, PA
- Saint Vincent Health Center – Erie, PA
JUVENILE DIABETES RESEARCH FOUNDATION

TOPS Associates and our customers come together each spring in the fight against Type 1 Juvenile Diabetes. We ask our customers to join us in raising funds to help fight this insidious disease by purchasing paper sneakers for $1 at the cash register. 100% of the money raise is donated to the JDRF chapters in the areas we serve to help find a cure that will liberate thousands of children from the daily toll this condition takes on their lives. TOPS associates also organize walk teams in dozens of stores to participate in local JDRF fund-raising walk events in Buffalo, Rochester, Jamestown, Elmira and Erie, PA.
In 2007 TOPS associates and our customers raised and donated more than $550,000 to help find a cure.
YOUTH SPORTS SPONSORSHIPS
TOPS provides sponsorships for a variety of Little League and Youth sports teams with outfield fence signage, scoreboards and team uniforms. TOPS believes that by encouraging healthy physical activity, sports skill, team play and by fostering the ideas for good sportsmanship, we build healthier children and stronger communities.
