My name is Sylvia Emberger, and I joined GIANT Food Stores as Corporate Nutritionist in January of 2008. Along with earning a BS degree in Microbiology from Penn State, I completed coursework in dietetics at Messiah College in Grantham, PA and a dietetic internship at Geisinger Medical Center to become a Registered Dietitian. The Corporate Nutritionist works behind the scenes to direct the company’s nutrition, health and wellness programs. There is so much information on nutrition available on the web and in advertisements that it is important to separate the facts from the fads. By staying informed about your questions and concerns, the Corporate Nutritionist helps the company provide the information, goods, and services you need for better nutrition and health. |

Hi! I’m Lisa Coleman, in-store Nutritionist for MARTIN’S Food Markets. I have a BS degree in Nutrition from Penn State and a MS degree from Illinois State University. Nutrition services are not always easily accessible in our communities, which is why I am proud of the Nutritionist program at MARTIN’S. The grocery store is the perfect place to provide nutrition education because so many decisions about your family's health are made in the aisles of the grocery store! The Nutritionist can help you meet your health goals while taking your family's preferences, budget, and lifestyle into consideration. The Nutritionist program provides practical, hands-on, individualized nutrition counseling to meet your family's health needs. I am especially interested in the area of nutrition that focuses on food allergies and intolerances. Many times, customers come to the store directly from their physician's offices in "panic mode,” feeling like there is nothing left for them to eat. It's very gratifying to help people find great-tasting, acceptable substitutions for their favorite foods after they have been diagnosed with a food intolerance or allergy. |

My name is Mark Rifkin, and I'm happy to be an in-store Nutritionist at Martin's. I earned my Master's in Health Education from Towson University in Maryland, completed my Nutrition coursework at Morgan State University, and completed a Dietetic Internship at the University of Delaware. The area of nutrition that interests me the most is helping retail customers select products that can help them prevent chronic diseases and conditions, including diabetes, obesity, heart disease, hypertension, cancer, food allergies, arthritis and digestive problems. I also enjoy helping customers discover new and delicious ways to prepare foods to enhance their overall health. Although I've conducted nutrition education classes since 1997, I believe the grocery store is the most effective setting to help the customer understand food, nutrition and health. The wide array of different foods found at Martin's provides unlimited opportunities for effective nutrition education. |

Hi! My name is Sylvia McDonald, and I joined GIANT Food Stores as an in-store Nutritionist in August of 2006. My educational background includes a Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania as well as a Master of Education degree from St. Francis University. I enjoy being a Nutritionist because I get a real kick out of bringing people back to basics. Nutrition is as simple as it is complex! The old basic food groups you learned about in school are absolutely key to maintaining a healthful diet. Nutrition is an ever-changing, dynamic science. I can count on my customers to keep me on my toes with questions about the latest food-related headlines, so I always have to stay current. The services offered by The Nutritionists at GIANT are so important and unique. In our classes, and right in our aisles, we translate the recommendations you read about in numbers and percentages into actual food choices. Where else can you find an expert who will give you guidance toward better food choices for you and your family? |

Hi! I’m Mary Ann Moylan, the newest member of the Health and Wellness team at GIANT Food Stores. I am excited to be the in-store Nutritionist at the brand new GIANT Super Food Store in Willow Grove. My educational background includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics from Marywood University in Scranton, PA and a one-year dietetic internship at Cincinnati General Hospital in Cincinatti, OH. As an in-store Nutritionist, I can provide nutrition information to customers when they need it most—when they’re grocery shopping! I’ll even help them shop aisle-by-aisle and offer questions about any diet they may be on. GIANT has so many things to offer, and now professional nutrition advice is one of them. I have a special interest in diabetes and weight management, as I am certified in both. Keeping up with all the current trends and developments in the ever-changing world of nutrition enables me to provide accurate and up-to-date information to all of our customers. I am most at home when I am helping people learn how to eat healthy, stay well, and adjust their eating habits when unwise food choices gets in the way of good health. |
