Eat 3-A-Day For Strong Teeth and Bones
Celebrate National Dairy Month by eating 3-A-Day! The USDA recommends two to three servings of calcium-rich dairy products each day to help you build stronger bones and a healthier body.
Not sure what equals one serving? Try these on for size!
Milk: 8 ounces (1 cup), or 3/4 the size of a soup can
Natural Cheese: 1–1.5 ounces, or the size of a matchbox
Yogurt: 8 ounces (1 cup), or one 8-ounce container of yogurt
Eating 3-A-Day of your favorite dairy products will strengthen your bones, muscles and teeth and can help you reduce the risk of osteoporosis and kidney stones. In addition to calcium, your body will also benefit from the other essential nutrients provided by dairy products like potassium, protein, riboflavin and niacin.
