Why is it better to be antibiotic-free? For years, poultry producers have fed chickens small doses of antibiotics to help keep them healthy. Amish Select chickens receive No Antibiotics Ever. There's no need. Our growth programs create a much less stressful environment. There are fewer chickens in each house allowing ample room to roam about. Chickens have better access to food and clean, fresh well water. Houses are built with more roof and wall insulation to maintain a more constant internal temperature. We utilize tunnel ventilation which pulls fresh air throughout the house while also regulating temperature. We monitor and regulate our bedding, keeping it deeper and drier than other producers, resulting in cleaner, healthier chickens.
