The ChoiceCatch sourcing strategy is a detailed comprehensive product-screening program. We are arming our procurement team with the best available scientific information to allow them to make the best choices in wild fisheries and fish farms.

TOPS’ Fish Farms

We source the majority of our farmed seafood directly from the fish farmers. We have defined standards for our fish farms based on best practices presently available. We are in the process of helping to develop a globally accepted set of standards to outline proper practices in order to verify the integration of these standards at each farm on a regular basis.

TOPS’ Wild Fisheries

We purchase our wild harvested seafood from a variety of sources. The New England Aquarium completes extensive reviews (Wild Fisheries Criteria) of our most important fishery products. This information is then used to direct purchasing away from problematic areas and shift buying towards healthier fisheries.
