Why ChoiceCatch?

ChoiceCatch (formerly known as EcoSound) was founded in 2001 as a partnership between the New England Aquarium and Ahold USA, Inc. - the parent company to Stop & Shop, Giant-Carlisle, Giant Foods and Tops. ChoiceCatch takes an innovative approach to promoting the health of wildlife resources and reflects our hard work over the past five years in becoming a more socially and environmentally responsible company.

The ChoiceCatch program was initiated when we approached the New England Aquarium in 2000 to help us source our seafood more sustainably. As a company, we believe that we need to invest in our existing resources to maintain them into the future. We have worked hard over the past five years to take steps towards more socially and environmentally responsible procurement practices. We still have a long way to go, but we know we are on the right path.
